Ayurvedic Massage in Aljezur

Irina has practised Ayurvedic Massage since 2015. She was trained in Ayurvedic Massages in India, where she spent 9 months studying different massage techniques. People often say that she has golden hands!

Mobile massages are available at your place in Aljezur, Vale da Telha, Arrifana, Monte Clerigo, Rogil, Carrapateira and Odeceixe or in my studio 5 minutes by car from Aljezur Old town.

See the price list below or download my flyer.

I believe ALL massages should be relaxing, even the therapeutic ones.

Choose between Abyhangam (the traditional Ayurvedic hot oil massage), deep tissue walking massage, foot reflexology, head neck and shoulders massage; and relaxing face massage.

If you would like to book a massage outside of the Concelho (municipality) of Aljezur, please contact me to discuss. I am also available for massages at your yoga retreat, yoga and surf retreat or hiking or cycling tour.

Benefits of Ayurvedic Massage

Ayurvedic massage, is a traditional Indian therapeutic practice that offers a wide range of physical, mental, and spiritual benefits. It’s a key part of Ayurvedic healing and typically involves warm herbal oils tailored to your Dosha (body constitution: Vata, Pitta, or Kapha). Here are some of the most notable benefits of Ayurvedic massage:

  • Improves circulation and cleanses energy channels (Nadis)
Ayurvedic treatment stimulates blood and lymphatic flow, helping remove toxins (ama) and improve oxygenation. Ayurveda believes massage helps unblock energy pathways, improving prana (life force) flow.
  • Relieves muscle tension & joint pain
The warm herbal oils penetrate deep into tissues, easing stiffness and chronic pain. I use food grade sesame, almond or coconut oil (no additives, no perfume, essential oils added on request).
  • Good for skin health
Abhyanga nourishes and moisturises the skin, resulting in a healthy glow and reduced dryness.
  • Boosts immunity
Regular massage supports lymphatic drainage and overall resilience of the body.
  • Improves sleep quality
Especially beneficial for Vata types, Ayurvedic massage calms the nervous system and promotes deeper, more restful sleep.
  • Reduces stress & anxiety
Massage has a grounding effect, it helps calm the mind, lower cortisol levels, and stabilise mood.
  • Balances the Doshas
Helps harmonise your energy and bring you back to your natural state of balance.
  • Mind-body connection
Encourages a deeper connection with your body and inner self.

How to prepare for receiving your Ayurvedic Massage

Here are some tips to get the most out of your Ayurveda massage.

Eat lightly: Avoid heavy meals 1–2 hours before your massage. A light snack like fruit or herbal tea is fine if you’re hungry.

Shower Before: Make sure you are clean and wear fresh clothes. Especially coming from the beach, you don’t want your massage to end up being a full body scrub!

Wear Comfortable, Loose Clothing: Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little oily after the session—natural fabrics like cotton are best.

Remove Jewelry & Makeup: Oils are applied all over the body, including face and scalp. It is best to go bare-faced and jewelry-free.

Set an Intention: Even a simple one like “I feel relaxed and at ease” can make the experience more meaningful.

Arrive on time: Give yourself time to settle in, use the restroom, and start relaxing before the session begins. Late arrival will result in shortened treatment time.

Rest after the massage: Try to avoid heavy activity afterward. Let the effects sink in.

Stay Hydrated: Warm water or herbal tea supports detoxification.

Delay Showering: If possible, leave the oil on for a couple of hours. It’s deeply nourishing and continues to work on the skin and nervous system.
